The 37-year-old woman found dead near a Santa Monica (10) Freeway off-ramp in downtown Los Angeles was identified Tuesday.
The body of the Erika Abeyta was discovered about 5 p.m. Monday near the Maple Avenue off-ramp, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner and reports from the scene. Abeyta’s place of residence was not disclosed.
The cause of death was not immediately known.
According to KTLA5, Abeyta’s body, which had been burned, was found at the bottom of the off-ramp near some construction containers.
The medical examiner’s office has not reported if the body was burned, but did confirm the body was discovered at the off-ramp.
