A 45-year-old man struck and killed by a vehicle on a transition road from the northbound San Diego (405) Freeway to the westbound Ventura (101) Freeway in Sherman Oaks was identified Tuesday by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.
The crash was reported at 3:57 a.m., California Highway Patrol Officer Michael Nasir told City News Service.
Alex Tranchina was pronounced dead at the scene, the medical examiner and Nasir said. There was no indication the driver fled.
The CHP issued a SigAlert at 4:19 a.m. Sunday shutting down the transition road for an investigation.
