A 125-acre brushfire was burning in the Lake Matthews area Saturday.
The fire was reported at 5:10 p.m. Saturday at La Sierra Avenue at Tin Mine Road, according to the Riverside county Fire Department.
It was reported as five acres at first, but an aircraft mapped it at 125 acres a few hours later, fire officials said.
The fire was burning at a moderate rate, officials said. Firefighters planned to work all night to contain the fire by lines of cleared vegetation.
No injuries or evacuations were reported.
La Sierra Avenue was closed between Cajalco and El Sobrante roads.
