A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle on the eastbound Foothill (210) Freeway in La Crescenta Wednesday evening.

The collision was reported around 9 p.m. Wednesday and California Highway Patrol officers were called to freeway near the La Crescenta Avenue exit where they learned a pedestrian was running on the freeway and was struck by a vehicle, CHP Officer A. De La Rosa told City News Service.

The victim, whose name, age or gender was not immediately known, was pronounced dead at the scene by Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel.

The CHP issued a SigAlert for the closure of all lanes of the eastbound portion of the freeway in the vicinity of the crash while they investigated the collision.
