A 47-year-old woman killed in a crash on the Pomona (60) Freeway in Montebello, while another was hospitalized, was identified Monday by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.

The crash was first reported to the California Highway Patrol at 8:27 p.m. Sunday on the eastbound Pomona Freeway just west of the Garfield Avenue off-ramp.

The witness said a car and a motorcycle collided and the motorcyclist was down in middle lanes, according to the CHP.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene just before 9 p.m. and a person with a major injury was taken to a hospital by ambulance, the CHP reported.

The medical examiner later identified Claudia Barrera-Rocha as the deceased person.

A SigAlert was issued at 8:54 p.m., shutting down all eastbound lanes. The lanes were reopened about 1:30 a.m. Monday.
