Riverside County Fire Department firefighters were battling a 100-acre brush fire in San Jacinto Sunday.

The fire was reported around 2:20 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of Soboba and Gilman Springs roads.

At the time of the initial report, the upslope-burning fire was estimated at five acres, but grew to 100 acres by 3 p.m., according to the fire department. Multiple air and ground resources were on scene.

No evacuations, injuries or road closures were reported. No structures were threatened.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
