Two people died at the scene of a two-vehicle crash in the Lake Los Angeles area, authorities said Sunday.

The driver was identified as 34-year-old Alfonso Villegas and the passenger as 21-year-old Angel Rivera, according to the Medical Examiner’s office.

The crash was reported at 7:10 p.m. Saturday at 170th Street East and Rawhide Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The driver and a passenger were pronounced dead at the scene, the CHP said.

The occupants of the other vehicle fled the scene on foot, the CHP said.
