Two months before the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana presents a new exhibit, the institution received a $500,000 gift to support it, officials said Thursday.
The gift from Charles and Ling Zhang will support the “World of the Terracotta Warriors: New Archaeological Discoveries in Shaanxi in the 21st Century,” which will open May 24.
The exhibit will feature about 110 newly excavated relics from Shaanxi Province, some of which have not been seen yet in North America, officials said. The exhibition focuses on China’s first emperor and the times that preceded him.
The exhibition will continue through Oct. 19 and will include a symposium with internationally known scholars on June 21.
