The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped Thursday for the ninth time in 10 days, decreasing 1.2 cents to $4.641.
The average price has dropped 7.5 cents over the past 10 days, including 1.3 cents Wednesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It dropped six consecutive days, rose one-tenth of a cent Monday and resumed decreasing Tuesday.
The average price is 5.5 cents less than one week ago and 9 cents lower than one month ago but 7.7 cents more than one year ago. It has decreased $1.852 since rising to a record $6.493 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The Orange County average price also dropped for the ninth time in 10 days, decreasing 1.3 cents to $4.591. It has fallen 9.5 cents over the past 10 days, including 1.8 cents Wednesday. It dropped six consecutive days, was unchanged Monday and resumed falling Tuesday.
The Orange County average price is 7.6 cents less than one week ago and 11.2 cents lower than one month ago but 11.1 cents more than one year ago. It has dropped $1.867 since rising to a record $6.458 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The national average price rose for the third consecutive day, increasing a half-cent to $3.071. It has risen 3.4 cents over the past three days, including 1.8 cents Wednesday.
The streak began one day after the end of a run of 17 decreases in 18 days totaling 12.4 cents.
The national average price is 1.4 cents more than one week ago but 10.1 cents less than one month ago and 8.4 cents lower than one year ago. It has dropped $1.945 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
