The growing business alignment between the Lakers and Dodgers expanded again Thursday, as the Lakers named longtime Dodger executive Lon Rosen as the franchise’s new president of business operations.

The move reflects increasing crossover between the two organizations since Dodgers owner Mark Walter’s investment group acquired majority control of the Lakers last year, with executives from the Dodgers’ management leadership structure taking advisory roles and sharing operational expertise across both franchises.

Rosen joins the Lakers after more than a decade with the Dodgers, where he has served as executive vice president and chief marketing officer since 2012.

“For many years, I have seen the impact that Lon has had in our industry,” Lakers Governor Jeanie Buss said in a statement. “Over that time, I have learned that not only is Lon a great person, but he also has a deep understanding of both sports and entertainment and a true feel for where this business is headed.”

Rosen replaces Tim Harris, who informed staff earlier this week that he will step down after more than 30 years overseeing the Lakers’ business operations.
