Motorists driving near Hollywood Burbank Airport will encounter lane closures beginning Monday to allow for intermittent construction of a new passenger terminal scheduled to open in October.

The intermittent construction will be on Hollywood Way, between Tulare and Thornton avenues, according to airport spokesman Mike Christensen.

The construction will take place Mondays through Saturdays and will include daytime and nighttime work, Christensen said. The sidewalk and bike lane on the west side of Hollywood Way will remain closed, between Winona and Thornton avenues.

Airline passengers can use the Empire Avenue entrance, or enter the airport westbound on Thornton Avenue.
