A person was killed Saturday when a semi-truck crushed through the center divider wall on the Foothill (210) Freeway in Irwindale, authorities said.
The crash occurred at about 9 a.m. Saturday just south of the Irwindale Avenue on-ramp, the California Highway Patrol reported. The truck crashed through the wall from the eastbound lanes into the westbound lanes, striking at least two other vehicles, the CHP said.
Irwindale police shut down the Irwindale Avenue on-ramp to the westbound freeway at 9:07 a.m. A Sigalert was issued at 9:14 a.m. shutting down the westbound freeway between Irwindale Avenue and the San Gabriel River (605) Freeway for an unknown duration. On the eastbound side, the carpool and two left lanes were blocked.
