The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped Friday for the 31st time in 32 days, decreasing 2.3 cents to $5.486, its lowest amount since March 13.
The average price has dropped 68 cents over the past 32 days, including 3.2 cents Thursday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It decreased 27 consecutive days, was unchanged Monday and resumed dropping Tuesday.
The average price is 12.8 cents less than one week ago and 67.9 cents lower than one month ago, but 87.3 cents more than one year ago.
The Orange County average price dropped for the 43rd time in 44 days, falling 1.7 cents to $5.358, its lowest amount since March 12. It has dropped 83.4 cents over the past 44 days, including 3.1 cents Thursday.
The Orange County average price dropped three consecutive days, rose one-tenth of a cent May 17 and resumed dropping May 18. It is 12.7 cents less than one week ago and 74.8 cents lower than one month ago but 81.2 cents more than one year ago.
The national average price dropped for the 35th time in 36 days, decreasing 1.7 cents to $3.901, its lowest amount since March 19. It has dropped 66.3 cents over the past 36 days, including 1 cent Thursday.
The national average price is 7.2 cents less than one week ago and 59 cents lower than one month ago, but 68.1 cents more than one year ago. It dropped 33 consecutive days, rose two-tenths of a cent Wednesday and resumed decreasing Thursday.
