Firefighters extinguished a fire at the Palm Springs Cultural Center that prompted the evacuation of 30 people, authorities announced Sunday.
The fire was reported around 7:35 p.m. Saturday at 2300 E. Baristo Road, where crews reported a working fire in the roof and attic space of the building, according to the Palm Springs Fire Department.
A total of 30 people were evacuated from the building as a precaution while firefighters worked to suppress the fire.
The fire was controlled by 31 firefighters at 8:18 p.m. Saturday.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire was unknown.
As of Sunday afternoon, the extent of the damage had not been determined and it was not clear when the theater would be ready to resume regular operations. Theater officials announced on social media that Sunday’s planned screening of “Meet Me In St. Louis” was canceled due to the fire.
“We are in the process of providing refunds to ticket holders. We hope to have a status update regarding the fire shortly,” they said.

Glad to hear that the firefighters were able to extinguish the fire quickly and ensure everyone’s safety during the evacuation. worth a look
