Firefighters Sunday were battling a brush fire in Nuevo that had burned at least 25 acres, according to a report Sunday.
The Contour fire was reported around 4:20 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of Chastity and Pulsar View roads, according to the nonprofit wildfire-information service Watch Duty.
As of 4:40 p.m. the fire was burning between 25 and 35 acres, according to Watch Duty.
Responding firefighters requested 15 additional wildland engines, six hand crews, two air tankers, four water tenders and an additional helicopter, according to Watch Duty, which added that there was no immediate threat to structures, but firefighters on scene reported a potential for 250 acres.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
No injuries have been reported.
