Renowned songwriter Diane Warren appears to have un-broke a little piggy’s heart Thursday.

Wilbur the pint-sized pig that made a viral run through the streets of West Hollywood went to the highest bidder in a silent auction Thursday and according to reports from the scene, the winner turned out to be Warren, whose body of work includes the Toni Braxton-sung hit “Un-break My Heart.”

An owner did not show up to claim the pig, who was dubbed Wilbur after TikTok video of him running through the streets of West Hollywood on Saturday turned him into an internet sensation. The adorable animal had been resting at a shelter in West Los Angeles since being captured later that day.

According to officers at the facility, a number of people inquired about adopting him.

The black-and-white pig became an online celebrity after an e-bike rider spotted him running on a street parallel to Fairfax Boulevard and posted video of the encounter.

The speedy pig was eventually corralled and taken to the West Los Angeles Animal Shelter, where he lolled in a pen, occasionally snacking on lettuce and feed or taking a drink to beat the summer heat.

The silent auction Thursday morning was the fairest way to select a suitable pig parent or parents, shelter officials said.

A woman told reporters lined up to see who would get Wilbur that she had come to the shelter at 11361 W. Pico Blvd. Thursday morning on behalf of Warren, who in addition to being a winner of multiple Grammy Awards, is also a animal welfare activists who runs a multi-acre animal rescue ranch in Malibu.

Shelter officials said they were not at liberty to disclose the amount offered.

Animal control officials had said that anyone interested in adopting Wilbur had to demonstrate that their home is suitable for housing what is essentially a farm animal and that zoning regulations and other rules restrict the housing of pigs in Los Angeles residences.
