Firefighters were battling a brush fire in Mead Valley Saturday that briefly threatened buildings and prompted evacuations.
The three-acre fire was reported just before 12:30 p.m. Saturday in the 20200 block of Masoncrest Drive, burning at a moderate rate of spread, according to the nonprofit wildfire-information service Watch Duty.
Law enforcement personnel were requested to assist with evacuations, and additional air tankers were requested for an air attack on the blaze.
As of 1:24 p.m. the forward rate of the fire was stopped and all air attack craft were released from the scene.
The cause of the fire was not immediately clear.
