Police on Friday released the names of two men arrested for allegedly burglarizing a South Pasadena home.

A house alarm went off about 1 p.m. Thursday in the 800 block of Rollin Street, prompting a neighbor to call police, authorities said.

The resident reported seeing two suspects running down a neighbor’s driveway and then west on Rollin Street toward an area known as Snake Trail, according to South Pasadena Police.

An officer responded and quickly located both suspects in the area of Via del Rey and Flores de Oro, taking one of them, 22-year-old Kenny Wayne Franklin of Lakewood, into custody, police said.

The other suspect fled but was found 2 1/2 hours later hiding in the 1300 block of Meridian Avenue. He was identified as Michael Lynn Ward, 26, of Los Angeles, police said.

“Jewelry was located in the possession of Ward that is believed to be stolen,” according to a police statement.

Both Ward and Franklin are due to be arraigned in Alhambra on Monday, police said.

Anyone who believes the recovered jewelry belongs to them was urged to contact South Pasadena police detectives at (626) 403-7280.
