The crash was reported about 1:40 a.m. at Barranca Street and Cameron Avenue, West Covina police Sgt. Keith Shishido said.
The man, in his 20s, died at the scene, Shishido said. His name was withheld, pending notification of kin.
According to the preliminary investigation, the man was riding south on Barranca Street — possibly at a high rate of speed — when the motorcycle crashed into a curb and a fence, Shishido said.
The man was alone on the motorcycle, and it appeared that no other vehicles were involved, he said.
