Fire early Friday morning damaged a recycling plant in Pomona, authorities said.

The blaze was reported around 12:55 a.m. in the 1800 block of South Reservoir Avenue, closing the road in both directions, the Pomona Police Department said.

About 30 firefighters had the fire knocked down in 75 minutes, Los Angeles County Fire Department Supervisor Robert Diaz said.

The type of material being recycled at the plant was not known, Diaz said.

Diaz said a bulldozer was being sent to the scene to move and level the smoldering debris.
