Two men riding the same bicycle suffered serious injuries when they were struck by a vehicle that ran a red light in the Vermont- Slauson neighborhood early Saturday.
The victims, the 24-year-old rider and his 22-year-old passenger, were hospitalized with broken limbs, internal and head injuries from the collision, at the intersection of West Slauson Avenue and South Hoover Street, at 1:20 a.m., Los Angeles Police Department Sgt. Hendley Hawkins said.
The bike riders were turning left into Hoover from Slauson when they were struck by the vehicle, a black Camaro, Hawkins said.
Both were thrown 100 feet from the point of impact by the force of the collision, Hawkins said.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene but had not been booked, Hawkins said.
