A magnitude-3.2 earthquake occurred 12 miles off the coast of Catalina Island Wednesday night, but appears to have had little impact.

The temblor occurred at a depth of one-sixteenth of a mile, 12 miles south of Avalon in the Gulf of Santa Catalina at 10:12 p.m., according to the United States Geological Survey.

“Nothing at all,” a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputy at the Avalon Station replied, when asked if he had felt anything.
