A man was struck by a Metrolink train and killed in North Hollywood Thursday.
The victim was on the tracks in a non-pedestrian area near Bellaire Avenue when he was hit by a westbound train with 350 people aboard on the Ventura County Line, said Scott Johnson of Metrolink.
Service on the line was interrupted for 2 1/2 hours, he said.
Officer Nuria Vanegas of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Media Relations Section said the victim was a man, but she did not know his age and his name was not immediately released.
He was struck in the 7300 block of North Bellaire Avenue, between Sherman Way and Saticoy Street, according to Adam VanGerpen of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
