A woman who worked in a high school cafeteria in Claremont was charged Wednesday with two felony sex-related counts involving a male student.
Vanessa Antonia Tinoco, 33, of Pomona, was ordered to remain jailed in lieu of $70,000 bail while awaiting arraignment Oct. 14 on one felony count each of unlawful sexual intercourse and oral copulation of a person under 18.
Prosecutors said someone at the high school alerted authorities out of concern about the interactions between Tinoco, who worked in the school’s cafeteria, and a male student at the school.
The name of the high school was not disclosed.
Tinoco was arrested Monday by Claremont police. If convicted, she could face up to three years and eight months in state prison, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
