A Palmdale woman and her boyfriend are set to be arraigned Tuesday on murder and other charges stemming from her 2-year-old son’s beating death.
Rosie Lee Wilson, 21, and Brandon Jerel Williams, 24, were initially charged with torture in August. Following the boy’s Oct. 5 death, charges of murder and assault on a child causing death were added against the defendants, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
The toddler allegedly suffered great bodily injury at the hands of Williams between June and August, Deputy District Attorney Theodore Swanson said when the two were initially charged.
The boy — who was 22 months old at the time and lived with his mother and her boyfriend — died of his injuries 41 days later.
Wilson and Williams were arrested in August by Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies and remain jailed. If convicted as charged, the two each face maximum life prison sentences, according to the District Attorney’s Office.
