One person was injured in a collision involving two big rigs that spilled about 40 gallons of diesel fuel onto the shoulder of Pearblossom Highway in the Antelope Valley, authorities said.

The crash was reported about 2:15 p.m. on Pearblossom Highway near Sierra Highway, east of Palmdale, according to the California Highway Patrol.

One person was trapped in the wreckage, and about 40 gallons of diesel fuel spilled, closing all lanes of Pearblossom Highway between Sierra Highway and Barrel Springs Road, the CHP reported.

One person was taken from the scene to a hospital, according to a Los Angeles County Fire Department dispatcher. That individual’s condition was not immediately available.
