A former executive director of the Los Angeles Trade-Technical College Foundation pleaded guilty Friday to an embezzlement charge and was ordered to pay just over $50,000 in restitution.

Jiah Rhea Chung, 44, was immediately sentenced to 60 days of Caltrans service and three years probation, along with the $50,500 restitution order, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.

Deputy District Attorney Dana Aratani said Chung admitted giving herself unauthorized bonuses and using foundation funds to pay for personal expenses.

The embezzlement happened between Jan. 1, 2009, and Nov. 1, 2011, while Chung was serving as the foundation’s executive director.

Eight other charges against Chung were dismissed as a result of her plea.
