A male was in critical condition as the result of a gang-related shooting in an alley in El Sereno on Monday, police said.
The shooting in the 5300 block of Ithaca Avenue, one block north of Alhambra Avenue, was reported at 5:26 p.m., said Los Angeles police Officer Jack Richter.
A perimeter was set up to look for three suspects who fled on foot.
NBC4 reported the victim was 14 or 15 years old and shot in the chest.
