Pomona police chased a pickup truck with five people inside, eventually arresting the driver on suspicion of felony evading and possessing a stolen vehicle, a passenger on a charge of illegally possessing a concealed gun and a third man on warrant charging him with robbery.

None of the names of the men arrested was made available. Two young men in the vehicle were turned over to their parents or legal guardians, Pomona police Capt. Michael Ellis said.

Police got a report of a some young men stealing alcohol from a supermarket about 7:40 p.m. Tuesday and, when officers caught up with the truck, a computer check of the license showed it was reported stolen in the Chino Hills area, he said.

The chase went about five miles into the Phillips Ranch area, where the driver finally pulled over and all five occupants surrendered, Ellis said.
