A hit-and-run collision Monday afternoon involving a total of five vehicles sent seven motorists to hospitals, although none of their injuries were regarded as life-threatening, police said.
The collision occurred at 3:15 p.m. at Redondo Avenue and Hill Street, said Cynthia Arrona of the Long Beach Police Department.
Officers located the alleged hit-and-run driver in Signal Hill and arrested him, she said. The motorist’s name was not immediately released.
Jake Heflin of the Long Beach Fire Department said 11 people were assessed at the scene, and all but four were transported to hospitals. The youngest patient was 15 and the oldest in his or her late 60s, Heflin said.
He said one of the vehicles involved was going at a high speed when the collision occurred.
