A 39-year-old Pasadena man was awaiting transfer to prison Monday after being sentenced to 40 years and eight months for drugging, raping and spraying a woman with a caustic gas.
Piotr Igor Dudkiewicz was sentenced Friday. On Oct. 30, a jury convicted Dudkiewicz of 12 felony counts, including mayhem, false imprisonment by violence and multiple counts of rape and sodomy. The panel also found true allegations of great bodily injury and tying and binding.
On April 28, 2013, Dudkiewicz brought the victim to his Pasadena home after agreeing to meet for the first time, prosecutors said.
He tried to force her to inhale a refrigerant gas. In the struggle that followed, the gas burned the woman’s chest, face and hands.
Then Dudkiewicz drugged the victim with ketamine, tied her up and sexually assaulted her. The next day, the woman called 911 and managed to escape.
Dudkiewicz, jailed since his arrest April 29, 2013, will be required to registered as a sex offender for life.
