A man in his 20s suffered serious leg injuries when he was struck by a freight train in Industry Wednesday night, but is expected to survive.
The man was struck a glancing blow by the Union Pacific train around 8:30 p.m., Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Lt. Raymond Enriquez said.
Enriquez told the San Gabriel Valley Tribune both the freight train and pedestrian were eastbound alongside the 13400 block of Crossroads Parkway when the train horn was sounded after the conductor saw the pedestrian.
The pedestrian jumped out of the path of the engine, but was grazed by it as it passed, Enriquez said.
