A fire broke out Wednesday at a two-story home in South Gate, sending one person to the hospital with smoke inhalation and displacing a total of seven, authorities said.
The fire at Duane Way and Elizabeth Avenue was reported at 1:49 a.m, said Los Angeles County Fire Department Dispatch Supervisor Robert Diaz. The house was fully involved in flames when firefighters arrived, but they put out the blaze by 2:05 a.m., he said.
Seven residents were displaced by the fire, the cause of which was not immediately determined, Diaz said.
