A young woman was killed when her vehicle left the southbound Antelope Valley (14) Freeway, became airborne, and overturned on a surface street, authorities said Tuesday.

The 25-year-old victim, who was from Lancaster, was trapped in the vehicle, a 2003 Chevrolet sedan, California Highway Patrol Officer W. Jones said.

No other vehicles were involved, and neither drugs nor alcohol were thought to be factors in the crash, Jones said.

The accident occurred around 9:30 p.m. Monday north of Newhall Avenue, Jones said.
