Seven people were arrested for attempting to interfere with the annual Tournament of Roses Parade as floats made their way through the streets of Pasadena, police said Thursday.
Two groups of people were taken into custody along Colorado Boulevard early in the parade, said Lt. Marie Sell of the Pasadena Police Department. One group was at the starting line at Orange Grove Boulevard and the other a little east, at Marengo Avenue,
Police could not immediately describe exactly what the people were doing to interfere, she added.
NBC4 reports that four people involved were protesters and carried signs in remembrance of Ezell Ford, a 25-year-old black man who was fatally shot by a Los Angeles Police Department officer in August.
Six people were still in custody as of 2:20 p.m. and will be cited before being released, Sell said.
