A 20-year-old Palmdale man was sentenced Wednesday to six years in prison for attacking his 2-year-old son’s mother, breaking her jaw.
Superior Court Judge Charles Chung imposed the term on Giovanni Grey McKinnis, who pleaded no contest last October to one count of corporal injury to a child’s parent.
A half-dozen other counts against him, including kidnapping, false imprisonment by violence and assault by means likely to produce great bodily injury, were dismissed as a result of his plea.
McKinnis attacked the woman, who was then 20, about a year ago, according to Deputy District Attorney Theodore Swanson. McKinnis was arrested last January and has remained in jail since then.
