A Metro Expo Line train struck and injured a pedestrian Tuesday west of downtown Los Angeles.

Paramedics sent to Exposition Boulevard and Arlington Avenue at 10:22 a.m. took the man to a hospital in unknown condition, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Metro spokeswoman Kim Upton said the train was eastbound when it hit the pedestrian. Buses were sent to ferry passengers between the Expo/Western and Expo/Crenshaw stations while an investigation was conducted, and delays of up to 30 minutes were expected, Upton said.
