An investigation was underway Friday into a fatal motorcycle collision in Gardena.
The crash, reported about 6:55 p.m. Thursday, involved a motorcycle and a Lexus ES300 at the intersection of Marine and Western avenues, according to Gardena Police Department Lt. Matt Hassholdt.
Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel took the rider to Harbor UCLA Medical Center, where they later were pronounced dead. The motorcycle operator’s identity was withheld pending family notifications.
The Lexus driver stopped and cooperated with police.
