A 30-year-old Los Angeles man was arrested Wednesday in the hit-and-run death of a teenage girl crossing a street in Hyde Park.

Reanna Goss, 17, identified by a cousin, was fatally struck about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at 48th Street and Ninth Avenue, according to police.

A vigil was being planned for Reanna tonight.

The impact from the collision left one of her boots in the road. The blue Toyota Camry that struck her was speeding east on 48th Street just before the accident, witnesses told broadcast outlets.

Jesus Palomares Jaime Jr., who surrendered to Los Angeles police at the Southwest Station this morning, was booked on suspicion of felony hit and run and jailed in lieu of $50,000 bail, police said.     The car that struck Goss was found about about 2 miles away from the scene of the accident, police said.
