A male with a gun escaped officers responding to a call of shots fired in Pasadena Thursday and a search for the suspect was underway, authorities said.

Officers responded about 6 p.m. to a call of shots fired in the area of Raymond Avenue and Washington Boulevard, said Pasadena police Lt. Vasken Gourdikian.

The suspect, armed with a gun, ran from officers, who pursued him on foot, but he got away, Gourdikian said.

A search for the suspect was under way along the Washington Boulevard corridor between Fair Oaks and Marengo avenues, he said, adding that officers were combing the area yard by yard.

No evidence was found of anyone being injured by the gunfire, Gourdikian said.
