A fire at an apartment building in North Hollywood Tuesday left three people injured, one seriously, killed a pet dog and resulted in about $50,000 in damage, authorities said.

“The fire cause was accidental, likely due to incense burning,” said Erik Scott of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

He said firefighters sent to the two-story structure in the 6300 block of Vineland Avenue at 9:13 a.m. extinguished the flames in 14 minutes.

Paramedics transported a man to a hospital for treatment of serious injuries, according to Scott, who said two other people suffered minor injuries assisting the man from the building.

A Chihuahua died in the fire, he said.
