Pasadena police Thursday released composite drawings in hopes of identifying two gunmen who robbed a check-cashing store and shot an employee.

The suspects entered the business in the 300 block of East Orange Grove Boulevard about 7 p.m. on Nov. 21 and demanded money, said Pasadena police Sgt. Mike Bugh.

“An employee armed himself with a handgun and attempted to detain one suspect,” Bugh said. “The second suspect shot the employee, and both suspects ran from the business …”

The suspects were described as black men in their 20s. One man was about 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighed about 300 pounds and had short curly hair. The second man was about 5 feet 5 inches tall, with a “skinny” build and short curly hair.

Anyone with information on the case was urged to call Detective A. Torres at (626) 744-7055; the dispatch office, (626) 744-4241; or use the websites LACrimeStoppers.com, or wetip.com.
