Four trucks were heavily damaged Wednesday by suspicious fires at a South Gate business, authorities said.
Firefighters sent to the cement processing company in the 5600 block of Southern Avenue about 1:30 a.m. extinguished the flames, said Inspector Rick Flores of the Los Angeles County Fire Department. No injuries were reported, and no structures were damaged.
The trucks, parked in a gated area of the property, sustained about $480,000 in combined damage, Flores said. The four individual fires apparently originated in the cab portions of the vehicles, and appeared suspicious in nature, Flores said.
