Authorities Wednesday identified a 21-year-old man who was killed in a drive-by shooting at the apartment complex in Van Nuys where he lived.

Officers sent to the 14100 block of Gilmore Street about 11:45 p.m. Tuesday found Javier Indalecio in the carport area of the complex, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Indalecio, who had suffered multiple gunshot wounds, was pronounced dead at the scene.

LAPD Lt. Jim Gilmore told reporters at the scene that the victim had been living in a parking structure at the complex.

Indalecio was standing in front of the building when an assailant opened fire from a passing vehicle, the LAPD reported.
