An apparent road rage shooting near downtown Long Beach left a car damaged but the motorist unhurt, police said.

The shooting was reported about 3:25 a.m. near 10th Street and Pacific Avenue, said Bradley Johnson of the Long Beach Police Department.

“Preliminary investigation is that this was a road rage incident where a male suspect shot from his vehicle and hit the vehicle a female victim was driving,” Johnson said. “There were no injuries, and no one is in custody.”

A description of the suspect’s vehicle was not released.
