A young man was skateboarding on a mountain road in the Angeles National Forest north of Glendora Friday when he was struck and killed by a dump truck, authorities said.

Paramedics were sent to Glendora Mountain Road near East Fork Road shortly after 10 a.m., said county fire Inspector Randall Wright.

The victim, whose name was not immediately released, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The roadway was closed while an investigation was conducted by the California Highway Patrol, which reported that the victim was a 20-year-old skateboarder.
