An off-duty Los Angeles police officer was involved in a car-to-car shooting Sunday morning in Santa Clarita, but no one was hurt, authorities said.
It happened about 10:15 a.m. near Rainbow Glen Drive and Swallow Court, said Deputy Kevin Duxbury of the Los Angeles County sheriff‘s Santa Clarita Valley Station.
“The suspect is currently being detained for questioning regarding his involvement with a possible assault with a deadly weapon incident,” Duxbury said.
The suspect was cooperating with investigators, the deputy said.
The Los Angeles Police Department was investigating the officer’s discharge of a firearm, but the overall investigation was being handled by the sheriff’s Santa Clarita Station, Officer Norma Eisenman of the LAPD’s Media Relations Section said.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting were under investigation and additional details were not immediately available, Duxbury said.
