Police Saturday sought the public’s help in locating a 19-year-old student from Loyola Marymount who went missing after arguing with his father on Friday.

Austin Bruns, of Sacramento, was last seen about 5:30 p.m. Friday, and left all of his important belongings in his dorm, according to a police officer at the LAPD’s Pacific station.

The Department of Public Safety at Loyola Marymount University has assisted with searching the campus for Bruns, according to an LAPD report.

His father, Scott Bruns, told NBC4 that he and his son had argued during a telephone conversation Thursday, and after not hearing back from his son, he  flew down from their home in Sacramento.

The elder Bruns told NBC4 that he and his son had apologized at least once before hanging up, and despite trying to call him back several times, the film major did not answer.

Austin Bruns was described as a 6-foot, 180-pound white male with blond hair and green eyes.

Bruns was reported missing at 11 p.m. Friday. Police asked anyone with information regarding his whereabouts call the LAPD’s Pacific station at (310) 482-6334.
