A man was stabbed in the Westlake District of Los Angeles Friday afternoon.

The victim was attacked about 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of Eight Street and Union Avenue, according to Los Angeles police.

He was taken to a hospital, but his condition was not immediately available. Police were unable to confirm reports from the scene indicating the victim is a man in his mid-20s who was stabbed in the neck.

The suspect was about 5 feet 9 inches tall and was wearing a beanie or bandana and a white jacket, police said.
