An 8-inch water main ruptured in Van Nuys Thursday, cutting off service to 30 customers.
The break was reported at 3:18 p.m. near Woodley Avenue and Sherman Way, said Albert Rodriguez of the Department of Water and Power.
Crews shut down the flow of water at 4:35 p.m. and were making repairs on the line, he said.
Service was expected to be restored by 11 p.m. but street repairs would probably not be complete until Friday morning, Rodriguez said.
